Establishment
The Kalamaria Friends of Music Association (KFMA) was established in July 2003 and was amended six years later.
Goal
The development and promotion of artistic / learned forms of music and the promotion of important composers, performers and their work and especially symphonic music, the support of the organization of symphonic music concerts with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Kalamaria and the promotion and utilization of young musicians who participate in it, as well as the support of the New Choir of the Municipality of Kalamaria – as they are called today and in any future change of this name.
The financial and moral support of the operation of the above and through cultural events the strengthening of the friendship of the spirit of understanding and the strengthening of the relations between the members and the creation of a spirit of solidarity between them which includes raising the level of music education of its members and culture in general. of music.
Encouraging musical expression and creation through the support of the existing soul potential and the emergence of young talented musicians. Possibly meeting further needs by creating new ensembles, departments and other musical institutions. The encouragement and multiplication of the important music events of the Municipality of Kalamaria and the local music development.
The contribution to the research of new currents and trends, to the promotion of contemporary and experimental music, to the study of traditional and old music and their interaction with other forms of Art and development, in the context of an ongoing fruitful dialogue.
Means
The moral, financial, material and technical support of those existing music institutions, ensembles and departments that serve the above purposes and the support and further upgrade, reform and creation of those institutions and structures related to the production of musical culture as well as constructive interventions in musical, cultural and social events.
The establishment of new ensembles, departments and organizations and the organization of concerts and musical performances, lectures, seminars, conferences and workshops on music and the arts as well as the holding of music competitions and workshops, the establishment of awards, honors and other media instruments , prominent personalities of spirit and art as well as cultural institutions for their work.
Other practical means
The organization of festive, cultural and other social events, speeches, banquets, educational and entertainment programs and the participation in wider social activities that are in line with the purposes of the association.
The production of photographic discs (CDs), videos and any other digital and analog surveillance medium or means of storage and dissemination of music as well as the production of radio and television music broadcasts or representation in such broadcasts.
Publishing books, magazines, newspapers and magazines on music and culture and establishing and maintaining a music and music library.
The creation and maintenance of websites and electronic calendars as well as any suitable electronic or other medium where the individual activities will be displayed, as well as the overall work and aims of the association, or even the exchange of views with the philomus public and the citizens in in the context of an open democratic dialogue.
Collaboration and partnership with other cultural organizations and musical institutions, as well as with personalities of the artistic, academic, scientific and political world, who pursue the same or similar goals and the integration and permanent and systematic representation of the association in similar regional and international organizations and the transfer of performers and ensembles in the context of cultural exchanges.
The provision of financial resources in every ethical legal and appropriate way and means as well as sponsorships / donations to support the activities and goals of the association as well as the implementation of subsidized co-financed or self-financed programs.
